Welcome to Greenland Alone – My Official Expedition Blog
Welcome to my blog!
As I sit here typing this first entry, the sheer scale and excitement of what lies ahead is only just starting to sink in. My name’s Marcus, and over the coming months I’ll be sharing the story of my solo expedition across Greenland, right here at greenland-alone.org.
Why Greenland? For as long as I can remember, I’ve been drawn to the wild, remote corners of our planet—places where the landscape tests not only your endurance, but your character. Greenland’s immense ice cap is the ultimate challenge: beautiful, brutal, and humbling.
Through this blog, I want to take you along with me—from the first steps of preparation and gruelling training sessions through to the day-to-day realities on the ice. I’ll post regular updates about the gear I’m using, the setbacks and breakthroughs, as well as some general musings on why someone would even attempt something like this alone. Once the expedition is underway, you can expect honest accounts and fresh photos direct from the heart of the Arctic.
Whether you’re an adventurer yourself or just curious about what it takes to go it alone through one of the world’s last great wildernesses, I hope you’ll find something here to inspire you. Please feel free to leave comments, questions, or words of encouragement—I’ll do my best to reply, even if it’s from a tent in a blizzard!
